Combining graphic elements, a touch of cuteness, and a healthy dose of cynicism, the works of CHIBA offer the viewer insight into the mind of the contemporary urban girl. Fun-loving, cartoonesque works are counterposed with pixilated logo-drawings and sculptural elements that will make your heart melt and throw your brain into high gear.
Ranging from mythology to contemporary subculture, the works of Luisa Catucci – LAPUPAZZA combine classic, illustrative elements with photography and digital collage. In her photo-paintings, models-often tattoed and pierced-are juxtaposed with historical and mythological references, bringing the roots of Western culture into a contemporary format. Her photography and illustrations are laced with both psychological and pop-cultural references, while maintaining a pointed, art-historical context by virtue of their medium and composition.
